Apply For The Rapid Response Fund by AIDS Alliance

The Rapid Response Fund  is an intervention of AIDS Alliance that helps in demanding situations where lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people (LGBT) and Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) are facing discrimination, stigmatization and threats of violence that hinder their swift access to HIV services. 

GRANT WORTH
The Rapid Response Fund provides grants up to $20,000 for civil society organizations that are led by, or work with, LGBT people or MSM. The aforementioned organizations can apply to support LGBT people and MSM whose situations meets the criteria for the grants .

GRANT CATEGORIES
The Rapid Response Fund has only two categories of grants and applications for either can be made at any time. These grants include:
  •  Emergency Response Grants:
 The emergency response grants help with immediate threats to LGBT people and MSM and the HIV services that they need, where action must happen very quickly to be effective.
Examples of activities under this category are: relocation of premises following forced eviction of CBOs or service providers that support LGBT people and their access to HIV services; post-violence psycho-social support; providing urgent HIV medication; and emergency safety measures for individuals or service providers that ensure access to HIV services can continue.
  • Challenge Response Grants: 
The challenge response grants are available for new or worsening situations that are urgent, but where activities take place over a number of months and contribute towards the removal of barriers for LGBT people and MSM to access HIV services.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
In order to be eligible for The Rapid Response Fund, an organization must be:
  •  led by/or work with LGBT people and/or MSM 
  • based in one of the 30 eligible countries.

  • Zimbabwe
West and Central Africa
  • Angola
  • Cameroon
  • Cote d'Ivoire
  • Democratic Republic of Congo
  • Ghana 
  • Mali
  • Nigeria*
  • Senegal
  • Sierra Leone
Latin America and the Caribbean
  • Dominique Republic
  • Guyana
  • Haiti
  • Jamaica
  • Trinidad & Tobago
